I got this for my daughter's Christmas present and she really likes it. There not a lot of hills around here so having only the rear shifter is not really a problem. If you live in an area with hills, you might find your "range" of gear selection a bit annoying. It does have a "super" low gear for steep hills which works well but you dont have a good selection range between that and the next gear (2nd).
The only other thing I don't like is that the handle bars can't be raised at the stem tube. My daughter would like the bars to be up a bit higher in a more "comfort" position but that is not an option.
Overall it is a very nice bike for the money!
